FAQs

Why or how is BWT’s cordless robot different than the other cordless robots out on the market?

BWT’s cordless robots may stand out due to:

  • Battery life: Potentially longer runtime or faster charging.
  • Filtration: Advanced 4D filter technology for finer debris capture.
  • Smart features: App control or unique automation options. Exact differences versus other brands aren’t specified in my data. Compare product specs or reviews for a clearer picture.

The “smart” feature on BWT power supplies likely refers to advanced automation capabilities, such as scheduling cleanings or remote control via a smartphone app. For example, some BWT models offer app-based control, which enhances user convenience. How this differs from competitors depends on specifics—like whether BWT integrates with smart home systems or offers unique cleaning customization—but exact differences aren’t clear from available data. Check your model’s manual or BWT’s website for precise details on its smart features versus competitors.

Filter replacement frequency for BWT robots depends on usage and pool conditions. Generally, clean the filters after each use to maintain performance, and replace them when they show wear or reduced efficiency (e.g., tears or clogging despite cleaning). BWT’s 4D filter technology, found in some models, is designed for fine particle capture, but no universal timeline applies—check your user manual for model-specific guidance.

The “9,000 aMh” (likely a typo for 9,000 mAh) refers to the battery capacity—9,000 milliampere-hours. This measures how much charge the battery holds, impacting runtime. A 9,000 mAh battery suggests a decent operating duration, though actual time depends on usage. Higher capacity typically means longer cleaning sessions before recharging.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

How do I use the Bluetooth and WiFi on the cordless?

To use Bluetooth and WiFi on a BWT cordless robot:

  • Download the app: Get the BWT app (if your model supports it).
  • Pair the device: Connect via Bluetooth or WiFi following the app’s prompts.
  • Set up features: Use the app to schedule cleanings or control the robot. Steps vary by model, so refer to your user manual or BWT support for detailed instructions.

For a cordless BWT robot, retrieval typically involves a built-in mechanism like a handle or a hook. Some models may float to the surface or move to a designated spot when finished. If your model has app control (e.g., D300), you might use the app to guide it to an accessible location. Check your user manual for exact instructions tailored to your robot.

If your BWT pool robot is in the pool but not moving, the issue could stem from the power supply or an obstruction. First, check if the power supply is functioning (see question 2 for troubleshooting steps). If the power supply is working, remove the robot from the pool and inspect it for debris or blockages in the impeller, drive system, or brushes. Clear any obstructions and test it again. If it still doesn’t move, refer to the user manual or contact BWT customer support for further assistance.

If your BWT robot’s power supply isn’t working, try these steps:

  • Check the connection: Ensure the power supply is securely plugged into a working outlet.
  • Test the outlet: Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm it’s functional.
  • Inspect the cable: Look for any visible damage to the power cord.
  • Reset or fuse: If the power supply has a reset button or replaceable fuse, check and address those as needed. If these don’t resolve the issue, the power supply may be faulty. Contact BWT customer support or an authorized service center for repair or replacement options.

If your unit is not running and does not have any lights on the unit itself and/or on the power unit, try the following:

  1. Make sure the power cable from the outlet to the power supply is connected securely by referring to this articleMy power supply isn’t lighting up.  This would cause the power supply to light up.
  2. Check to make sure the floating cable is connected.  If so, disconnect from power supply and reconnect.

If you have confirmed you have power at the power supply and power at the robot but the the robot still does not move, try the following:

  1. Remove the robot from the pool and disconnect from power. Inspect the propellor for accumulation of hair, string, or leaves that can block propellor from turning. NOTE: When removing the cover for the propellor, make sure to use a manual flat tip screwdriver.  Do not use power tools for this operation.
  2. If clear, try turning the robot upside down on a soft surface such as grass or a towel and try moving the wheels/tracks with your hands to see if they move freely.

If all of this checks out and is clear, but your robot still does not move when in the water, it is time to send it to a BWT service centers for a complete diagnostic.
